These embroidered trousers were traditionally worn the Bandar Abbas and Persian Gulf regions under a colorful dress.  They are created with silk threads and sequins which are hand-sewn in intricate patterns.

After sewing, the sequins are beaten with a seashell to flatten them into shape. This seashell, called

This kind of traditional costume is a rapidly dying art. Women pursue educations and professional careers rather than creating these time-consuming, labor-intensive items.

The size can be adjusted by inserting a drawstring or elastic (not included).
