CT-Art 3.0 is the latest version of the Chess Tactics Art software by the
great Maxim Blokh. He is considered to be one of the world's premier chess
coaches and has authored at least three books on combinations and tactical
patterns. One of them, "The Art of Combination," is a definite prize for
any chess library. One of the unique features of this software is that a given position may contain not just a combination with White to move, but also a combination with Black to move. Essentially, you have the opportunity to solve two puzzles from one position and increase your aptitude for playing either White or Black. The material featured in this software is suitable for players from 1600 to 2400. There are more than 1200 main exercises and over 1000 supplemental exercises which can be grouped into three general categories: Tactical methods, combination motifs, and level of difficulty. Users can create different profiles, each with independent ratings. There is also a built-in program that can be used for games. Advanced Chess School is a great program for inexperienced players
who know the basic rules and are ready to expand their knowledge and
improve their games. You can use it on its own or in conjunction with the
excellent Chess School book series.
Users can study the basic concepts of openings, piece development, control of the center, fundamental tactics, basic endgame techniques, material advantage, and many more great ideas. The chess material for the program was prepared by N. Zhuravlev, a well-known chess master, coach and author. The program contains two large courses: “Theory – Essential Chess Knowledge” and “Playing Instructive Examples." There are 55 lessons with more than 1,200 instructive examples.
