If you want to learn to play chess or want to know how to improve your game, you should seriously consider chess lessons. Mr. Madani offers lesons to interested students aged 6 and over, without regard to race, color, creed or gender. Chess lessons are based on the method of discovery.

Chess students will begin with an introduction to the board, basic principles, chess terminology and theory. Lessons are supplemented with assigned readings and, of course, playing chess and analyzing student games.

In the old days, it was said that chess is 95% tactics, 5% strategy. Today, we know that it is 100% tactics. Students will learn to focus on planning and tactics through recognition of critical moments during the opening, middle game and end game stages.

In group or classroom settings, students generally will have a lesson followed by chess club, when they can play one another and apply their new-found knowledge.

In individual settings, the student will receive more personalized instruction tailored to each person's specific needs.
