Item No. 1309

The Immortals were the elite guard of the Persian Shah during the age of Persepolis. They were so named because the complement was maintained at 10,000. If one solider was killed or wounded, another would immediately step in and take his place, thus making the army appear invincible.

This bas relief sculpture shows an Archer with spear. The faravahar above his head guards him. The sculpture and the base contain hieroglyphics as shown at the original Persian capital.

Dimensions: 23 cm tall, 18.5 cm base length, 2.5 cm base wide (heavy). Shipping weight: 2.5 pounds.
